If you are a family in India who has been meaning to send a pooja box to your son in London, your daughter in Dubai, your brother in Toronto  this is not a planning guide. This is a last-chance guide. The window is tight but it is not closed. What you do in the next 48 hours determines whether Bappa arrives at their door before the festival or after it.

And if you are an NRI reading this from Dubai or Melbourne or New Jersey  forward this to your family in India right now, before you read another word.

What the calendar actually looks like from today

Express courier (DHL, FedEx, UPS) from Hyderabad to UAE, UK, Singapore takes 4 to 6 business days in transit. Add 1 to 2 days for customs clearance at the destination. That means a box dispatched from Forward Parcel’s warehouse on September 5 has a realistic arrival window of September 10 to 12  two to four days before the festival.

For USA and Canada, transit runs 5 to 7 business days. A September 4 dispatch lands around September 11 to 13. Tight, but workable.

For Australia, where biosecurity checks add time, transit is 6 to 8 business days minimum. A box that leaves Hyderabad by September 3 has a chance of arriving before September 14  but only just. Australian-bound boxes should be treated as the most time-critical of all destinations.

This means orders placed to the Forward Parcel warehouse today and tomorrow need to be standard 1 to 2 day domestic delivery to the warehouse, consolidated immediately, and dispatched no later than September 3 to 5 depending on destination.

There is no comfortable buffer anymore. Every day of delay past September 1 increases the risk of a post-festival arrival.

What to order right now  and only what travels fast

Given this timeline, this is not the moment for large, elaborate puja setups. It is the moment for a focused, meaningful box that covers the essentials and ships immediately. Here is what to order today, where from, and why each item makes the cut:

The Ganesha idol  order this first

For a 14-day international shipping window, the idol choice matters more than usual. A small to medium eco-friendly clay idol  6 to 8 inches  from Amazon India is the right call. It is lightweight, ships with 1-day Prime delivery to the Forward Parcel warehouse in Hyderabad, packs compactly with bubble wrap, and clears customs without the scrutiny that larger or heavier plaster of Paris idols can occasionally attract at Australian and UK borders.

Avoid ordering large 12-inch-plus idols for this window  the weight adds to shipping cost and the fragility increases packing time at the warehouse. A small clay Ganpati on a home altar is no less sacred than a large one. The family receiving it knows this.

A pre-assembled puja samagri kit

This is where you save the most time. Instead of ordering haldi, kumkum, roli, moli, dhoop, and diyas separately from five different sellers  each with their own delivery timeline  a single Ganesh Chaturthi samagri kit from Amazon India lands as one package, one delivery, one tracking number. Most kits include agarbatti, sambrani cups, decorative items, dry pooja essentials, and small brass or clay accessories. Available with next-day delivery to Hyderabad. Order one kit sized for the number of days your family abroad plans to celebrate  1.5-day, 5-day, or 10-day kits are all available.

Commercially sealed modak mix

Your family abroad cannot receive handmade modaks. They can receive MTR or Gits modak mix in a sealed box, make them at home, and offer them as naivedyam exactly as tradition requires. Available on JioMart with same-day or next-day delivery to the warehouse. Add this  it weighs almost nothing and means more than you might expect.

One piece of new clothing

New clothes on Ganesh Chaturthi are part of the ritual. A single kurta for a man or a cotton salwar set for a woman from Amazon India or Meesho takes up minimal space, weighs under 500g, and adds a layer of feeling to the box that no samagri kit can replicate. Order something that arrives at the warehouse within 24 hours  stick to sellers with Prime or next-day delivery badges.

A handwritten note or photograph

Not ordered from any platform. Written at home, photographed on a phone if sending digitally, or handed to whoever is dropping items to the warehouse. The family abroad will keep this long after the idol has been immersed.

What cannot be in this box  especially with this timeline

With 14 days to the festival and no room for customs complications or returns, this is not the time to push boundaries on restricted items.

Fresh flowers, fresh coconut, and durva grass cannot be shipped internationally  they are biological material and will be seized at customs at every major NRI destination, costing days of delay and potentially holding the entire box.

Homemade or unlabelled sweets  the modaks your mother made, the laddoos from the local mithai shop  cannot be shipped. Every country on the NRI destination list will confiscate unlabelled food items. In a tight timeline, a customs hold on food is the difference between the box arriving before the festival or after it.

Plaster of Paris idols that are large, fragile, or heavily decorated need careful packing that takes time. In this window, a compact clay idol is the practical choice.

Agarbatti and dhoop containing loose, unpackaged organic material  natural resin cones, artisanal loose incense  can be flagged at Australian customs specifically. For Australian-bound boxes, use only factory-sealed, branded agarbatti with printed ingredient labels.

The Forward Parcel process  what happens from here

Every order placed to the Forward Parcel Hyderabad warehouse address in the next 24 to 48 hours will be received, photographed, and uploaded to your dashboard. You review the photos  idol intact, samagri kit undamaged, clothing correct  and approve the shipment. The team consolidates everything into one box, prepares customs documentation, and dispatches via your chosen courier.

For a Ganesh Chaturthi box dispatched by September 4, the tracking numbers will be live before September 5. Your family abroad can watch it move in real time  from Hyderabad to their city  which is its own kind of comfort when the festival is this close.

One note on courier choice for this window: select the fastest express option available in your dashboard for your destination country. This is not the shipment to optimise for cost. The difference between DHL’s 4-day express and a 7-day economy option is the difference between the box arriving September 10 or September 13  and for a festival that begins at dawn on September 14, that gap matters.

City-by-city: what is still realistic

Destination Latest Dispatch Date Expected Arrival Buffer Before Festival
Dubai / Abu Dhabi (UAE) September 5 September 10–11 3–4 days
London / Birmingham (UK) September 4 September 10–12 2–4 days
Singapore September 4 September 10–11 3–4 days
New York / New Jersey (USA) September 3 September 10–12 2–4 days
Toronto / Brampton (Canada) September 3 September 10–12 2–4 days
Sydney / Melbourne (Australia) September 2–3 September 10–13 1–4 days

All estimates based on express courier transit times and standard customs clearance. Festival date: September 14, 2026.

Australia is the most time-pressured destination on this list. If you are sending to Australia, your orders need to be at the warehouse by September 1  which means placing them today, right now, before anything else.

One thing worth saying plainly

Even if the box arrives two days late  September 16 instead of September 14  it still matters. The festival runs 10 days until Ganesh Visarjan on September 25. A box that arrives on September 16 is there for eight days of celebration. The idol can still be installed. The samagri can still be used. The new clothes can still be worn for the remaining days of Ganeshotsav.

Send the box. Even now.

Bappa travels across borders just fine. He just needs a departure time.

Sign up with Forward Parcel today, place your orders to the warehouse address, and dispatch before September 5.
