The Amazon Great Indian Festival is live right now.

It started earlier this month and runs in waves through Diwali which falls on November 8 this year. That means there are still weeks of sale pricing left, and for NRIs who have not yet placed their orders, this is the window that matters most.

The Great Indian Festival is Amazon India’s biggest sale of the year. Not the Independence Day sale, not Prime Day this one. Discounts are confirmed across smartphones, laptops, televisions, home appliances, fashion, and beauty products, with an additional 10% instant discount for SBI card holders. Early deals started rolling out from late September, and Prime members received 24-hour early access before the main sale opened to all shoppers.

For NRIs, this is the sale window they plan around. Indian electronics brands at Indian sale prices. Fashion and gifting at Diwali discounts. Products that are either unavailable internationally or cost significantly more abroad. And through Forward Parcel’s Hyderabad warehouse address, every single category on Amazon India ships to wherever you are in the world.

Here is what is worth buying and how to get it from Amazon India’s sale to your door abroad.

Electronics and Gadgets Where the Sale Earns Its Reputation

This is the category that drives the most NRI orders during the Great Indian Festival, and for good reason.

Indian-market electronics brands boAt, Noise, pTron, Zebronics are not sold internationally. For NRIs who know these brands, the Great Indian Festival is the single best time to buy. boAt earbuds, Noise smartwatches, pTron cables and accessories all heavily discounted during the sale window and not available at any price outside India. These are lightweight, compact, and among the most efficient items to consolidate for international shipping.

Smartphones see some of the sharpest year-round discounts of the entire year during this window particularly OnePlus, Samsung mid-range, Redmi, and Realme devices. For NRIs buying a second phone to keep in India or sending a device to a family member, the Great Indian Festival pricing represents a genuine saving over international retail.

Laptops from Acer, Dell, HP, and ASUS are also consistently discounted. Heavier to ship but worth it when the saving exceeds the shipping cost which on a laptop priced ₹15,000 below its international equivalent, it usually does. Declare the value accurately on the customs invoice and ensure the model is compatible with your destination country’s voltage and connectivity standards before ordering.

Small electronics accessories charging cables, power banks, screen protectors, phone cases, earphones, Bluetooth speakers are the sweet spot for NRI consolidation during this sale. They weigh almost nothing, compress easily, attract low or zero customs duty at most destinations, and accumulate meaningfully in a box alongside other items.

Home Appliances The Category That Needs Planning

Air fryers, instant pots, kitchen mixers, water purifier filters, vacuum cleaners Amazon India’s home appliance deals during the Great Indian Festival are real and worth planning around. Mixer grinders and dishwashers are among the strongest appliance categories for the Diwali sale window specifically.

For NRIs, this category requires a voltage check before ordering. Indian appliances run on 220–240V at 50Hz. Most of the UAE, UK, Singapore, Australia, and European countries match this standard appliances ordered from Amazon India will work without a converter. Canada and the USA run on 110–120V at 60Hz appliances ordered without checking compatibility will not work, or will work poorly, on North American current.

For compatible destinations, Indian appliances at Great Indian Festival prices represent strong value. A kitchen mixer that costs ₹3,500 on Amazon India during the sale and its equivalent in Dubai or London costs three to four times more justifies its shipping weight considerably.

Fashion and Ethnic Wear The Diwali Wardrobe Window

Amazon India’s fashion catalogue during the Great Indian Festival covers everything from casual everyday kurtas to embroidered Diwali sets, sarees, lehenga cholis for children, and men’s ethnic wear across the full price spectrum. Fashion is one of the sale’s core categories, with major discounts running through the full festival window.

For NRIs, this is the Diwali wardrobe ordering moment. Ethnic wear needed for Diwali celebrations, Bhai Dooj gatherings, and the social season that runs through November arrives in time when ordered now and dispatched promptly from the Forward Parcel warehouse. Clothing is lightweight, compresses well, and consolidates efficiently a full Diwali wardrobe for a family of four can fit in 4 to 5 kg with careful packing.

The specific advantage of Amazon India’s fashion catalogue over other Indian platforms for NRIs is sizing consistency. Amazon India’s own label and its major fashion partners Fabindia, Biba, W, Manyavar use standardised sizing that NRIs who know their Indian measurements can rely on without seeing the item in person. The photo review step at Forward Parcel’s warehouse still catches any sizing surprises before the box is sealed.

Beauty and Personal Care Nykaa is Not the Only Option

Amazon India carries a significant beauty and personal care catalogue during the Great Indian Festival Mamaearth, Minimalist, The Moms Co., Himalaya, Biotique, and international brands available at Indian retail pricing. For NRIs who buy beauty products from multiple platforms, consolidating an Amazon India beauty order with Nykaa or Meesho orders at the same Forward Parcel warehouse address means one shipping fee covers all of them together.

Sealed personal care products under 500ml ship internationally without air freight restrictions. Larger bottles body wash, shampoo, hair oil in 1-litre bottles are worth splitting into smaller sizes for shipping efficiency. The saving on Indian-brand personal care products versus international retail typically justifies including them in a consolidation even if they add modest weight.

Gifting and Diwali Hampers The Category That Peaks Right Now

Amazon India’s Great Indian Festival runs specifically through the Diwali gifting season and the platform’s gifting catalogue reflects this. Dry fruit assortments, premium chocolate gift boxes, branded corporate hampers, personalised gifts, home décor items, diyas and decorative brass pieces all heavily promoted during this window.

For NRIs building a Diwali gift box for family abroad or for their own celebration, Amazon India’s festive gifting section is one of the best consolidated sources available. Everything ordered to the Forward Parcel warehouse can be reviewed via the photo dashboard, confirmed, and shipped as one outbound box. A Diwali hamper assembled across five Amazon India orders dry fruits, sweets, a diya set, a small brass idol, a piece of clothing moves as one shipment rather than five.

The Access Problem and How Assisted Purchase Solves It

Amazon India’s checkout is built for the Indian market. It requires an Indian mobile number for OTP verification on account creation and order tracking. Indian payment methods UPI, Indian debit and credit cards, net banking are the primary checkout options. International cards work sometimes but fail frequently, particularly for new accounts flagged as unusual login locations.

Prime membership gives access to early deals and additional discounts but setting up an Indian Prime account from abroad runs into the same phone number barrier.

For NRIs who cannot navigate these restrictions directly, Forward Parcel’s Assisted Purchase service handles the entire checkout process. You share the Amazon India product links directly from the Great Indian Festival page, from your wishlist, or from a specific deal and the India-based team places the order using Indian credentials. The items are delivered to the Hyderabad warehouse, photographed on arrival, and uploaded to your dashboard for review.

This is particularly useful during the Great Indian Festival because Lightning Deals the deeply discounted flash sales that expire in hours require fast action. Instead of fighting an OTP error while a deal counts down, the Assisted Purchase team can act immediately when you share the link.

Building a Diwali Consolidation from Amazon India

The economics of the Great Indian Festival for NRIs improve significantly with consolidation. Each individual Amazon India order shipped separately to an international address carries its own base courier fee, its own customs declaration, and its own brokerage charge at the destination. A box of five separate small orders shipped individually costs four to five times more in logistics than the same five orders consolidated into one outbound shipment.

Forward Parcel’s warehouse holds items for up to 30 days on standard membership and 60 days on premium. The Great Indian Festival runs in waves through Diwali place orders across the full sale window, let everything accumulate at the warehouse, review the photos when everything has arrived, and ship one consolidated box before Diwali.

One customs declaration. One courier payment. One tracking number. DHL, FedEx, or UPS to your door in Dubai, London, Singapore, Toronto, Sydney, or wherever Diwali will be celebrated this year.

The sale is live. Diwali is weeks away. The Forward Parcel warehouse address is waiting.
